Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021

"Sharp corners and smooth edges" looks to be the appropriate way to start off the description of this 1979-80 O-Pee-Chee Wayne Gretzky rookie card, with KSA awarding a mark of 8.5 NMM+ to the appealing specimen. Ten tiny, tiny white "circles" (from the printing process) can be seen in the blue that surrounds the image of hockey's all-time most prolific offensive force, with a slight diamond cut also observed, along with a couple of white specs along the left edge, to the left of the top of the yellow dasher board. When viewing the back (horizontally), one detects a little discoloration along the right edge. There are also the two thin blue lines through the puck and skate below the cartoon to note. Some feel that they're evidence of O-Pee-Chee's first print run, while others dismiss that belief. One thing is for sure; if you haven't secured a Wayne Gretzky rookie card, you really should, with several opportunities to do so this time around. We cannot spot any notable condition issues with the KSA holder.
