Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
With a passion for the game of hockey that began, like for many Canadian youngsters, on a backyard rink, Wayne Gretzky, by the time he was six, had skated circles around so many pylons and shot so many pucks into a small net that he was greatly superior at skating and puckhandling than any other kid his age. He started playing against 10-year-olds and by the time he was 10 himself, scored 378 goals in one season - a sign of things to come! When his superiority landed him in the NHL, Wayne broke records in unfathomable ways; 50 goals in 39 games and four 200-point seasons come to mind. Coming to auction, this example of Gretzky's coveted O-Pee-Chee rookie card features bright vivid colors and has been graded 7.5 NM+ by KSA. Flaws are not easily detectable; a little bit of white along parts of the top edge and at two corners are to note, with smooth side edges an attribute. The KSA holder has been well cared for, with no scratches observed.
