Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Opening its doors just before the onset of The Great Depression in 1929, Chicago Stadium – also known as “The Madhouse on Madison” – housed the Chicago Black Hawks for 65 years, with its Barton pipe organ the envy of countless venues. We have a pair of joined seats that originally were placed in the lower bowl of the famous arena. At approx 40” in width, the fabric-backed seat and back rests along with the metal hardware is all in solid red, with small metal plates with black numbers affixed to the bottom of each seat, with one numbered “1”, the other, “2”. Three U-shaped metal bars are included, with these inserted into the bottom of the chairs to facilitate a free-standing setup. Both chairs show moderate wear to the fabric and metal components, with no large tears or unsightly damage. Each black seat back also has areas of red paint over the lower reverse.
