Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Designed to entice the viewer to purchase an always refreshing Coke, this dual-sided Coca-Cola advertising sign originates from circa-1950 and features both baseball and skiing. The French counterpart produced for use in Quebec, and paling in comparison to the English-language examples that would have been produced, each paper poster is just under 30” x 50”, and mounted to the cardboard core, with “Prenons un Coke” (let's have a coke) above, and “Glace” (Ice Cold) below, with each side also sporting a Coke button sign. An attractive blonde female patron shares a Coke with a baseball player and manager on one side with the trio all smiles, while a pair of Coke-drinking skiers graces the other. Displaying admirably with the colours remaining bold and vibrant, there is wear to each side including chipping to the paper along edges, with the top right corner of the baseball side torn away (this is also the top left corner of the skiing side). Some minor water staining is also visible, along with a few pinholes, with the poster ready to present majestically within a high quality frame.
