Guarding the crease of the OHL’s Barrie Colts for a trio of seasons, netminder Michael Hutchinson also saw action in the AHL before making his NHL debut with Winnipeg, in 2013-14. The 2019-20 NHL season would be Hutchinson’s second in Toronto where he served as backup, playing in 15 contests, with the offered photo-matched pads worn during this season. Acquired directly from the Maple Leafs, the Bauer Vapor 2XPro models in solid white with accents in Leafs’ blue sport mounted rubber identifiers, with “Hutchinson” embroidered over a leather patch affixed to each interior section. The left pad has also been initialed by Kay Whitmore in his role as acting goaltending supervisor of the NHL, with a code added along with “NHL”. An LOA from the Toronto Maple Leafs will accompany.
Moderate use is exhibited on the pair, with numerous puck marks covering the front of each, with traces of red paint transfer to the right pad and both blue and red paint transfer to the left. Getty Images #1197331449 (Dec 27, 2019 vs New Jersey) and #1189877669 (Dec 21, 2019 vs Detroit) have both been matched to numerous distinct marks on each pad, including their size, shape and placement.
