This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Offering the important tools of the trade, this lot features a great group of vintage hockey equipment ranging from the 1920s to 1960s and totaling eight items/pairs, with partial ensembles for two players, with each ensemble to include skates, a helmet, gloves and shin pads. First, we have a pair of vintage black plastic helmets including Cooper Weeks and Winnwell models, with the strapping intact, with each showing moderate use. This is followed by two pairs of skates, with the first a rarely-seen pair of early Bauer models from the 1920s with black leather boots and the original laces, with moderate wear to the boots and heavier wear to the blades, while the second pair of “Ice Master” model skates hail from the 1940s/50s and were produced by Gilberg’s in Sweden, with red toes and just light wear present, with a company decal over the left skate blade. The gloves originate from the 1950s/60s and include a pair of JC Higgens “Champion” models in beige and black with moderate wear including a tear to the palm/thumb area, along with a pair of D&R “Stick Handler” models with intact tie string and moderate wear. Rounding out the lot, we have two pairs of shin pads, with a pair of large “Gold Shield” models from the 1940s sporting moderate wear, along with a pair of Cooper Weeks Black Diamond DG2 models from the 1950s, with just light to moderate wear including to the black finish.
