Big Ken Dryden, the first goalie to appear on a rookie card wearing a mask, begins this offering, with his 1971-72 Topps RC housed in an older PSA holder labeled NM-MT 8. Mario Lemieux RC contributors are from O-Pee-Chee (VG+) and Topps (EX), while well-centered OPC Mark Messier and Ray Bourque RCs are NM-MT. Similar is an OPC Patrick Roy rookie, with a tiny blemish hidden (almost) in his blocker. Most notable (and crease-free) among other 1980s representatives are Denis Savard, Paul Coffey and Steve Yzerman RCs, the latter affected by a few surface indentations. A second-year OPC Wayne Gretzky (NM) and RCs from the '90s (Sakic, Jagr (4), Brodeur, Lindros, Selanne and Kariya), along with dozens of star cards complete, with more details and images on our website.
Eleven Gretzky cards ('81-82 Topps, '82-83 OPC and nine "specials"), a half-dozen of his Oilers teammates, a second-year Patrick Roy (OPC) and appearances by Francis, Gartner, Bourque and Oates are among the rest, with a little WHA representation also to mention. The famous "The Howes" card from '74-75 is VG, while from '75-76 are Jacques Plante (NM (OC)) and Frank Mahovlich (EX). We almost overlooked an unmarked '70-71 OPC 2nd Series #264-Checklist (VG+ with a subtle light one-inch crease). Rookie cards from the '80s but with a crease or corner wear are those of Gilmour, Francis, Broten, Housley and Bellows, while miscellaneous stars/rookies, mostly from the '90s, are to be discovered.
