A unique image capturing the Russian machine in all of its dominant glory, the Soviet national team visited the Montreal Forum in 1964 for an exhibition match against the Montreal Canadiens, with the offered photo later team-signed by the Russian squad. Originating from the incomparable autograph collection of E. Robert Hamlyn, the glossy black and white 8” x 10” image was snapped by noted lensman David Bier (his stamp appears on the reverse) and was gifted to Hamlyn way of Montreal Star reporter Hal Atkins, with the photo showing game-action within the packed Forum, with Doug Harvey visible in the background. 18 have signed in matching blue ink along the base with the signatures somewhat bunched-up, with typed text on the reverse listing the Russian players who apparently signed, with the text further noting that the signatures were acquired when the Russians visited St Johns on Dec 26, 1966.
The photo sports a number of small indentations from handling, with some minor staining on the reverse.
