Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Witness to the greatest goal ever scored in the rich history of the game of hockey, we offer a ticket to the tournament-clinching Game 8 of the fabled Summit Series in 1972, with this specimen all the more desirable as it hails from the personal collection of goal scoring hero, Paul Henderson, and was used by his biggest supporter, Mrs. Henderson. At approx 2 ½” x 4”, the Sept 28, 1972 date of the eighth and final game appears in Cyrillic, with a rough tear to one side of the ticket – with this common with surviving examples. There is some wear, with a few minor fold lines visible, with the ticket displaying well overall. The most important surviving Game 8 ticket in existence when considering the provenance, this example will be highly coveted. A signed LOA from Paul Henderson will accompany this important piece of Canadian and Russian hockey history.
