Guy! Guy! Guy! Exclaimed our auction manager here at Classic Auctions upon delivery of this trio of desirable game-used Guy Lafleur sticks, with the superstar’s Hall of Fame tenure beautifully represented, with examples from both the peak and twilight of his legendary career. Included, we have a signed KOHO model stick that saw use during the mid-1970s, a Sher-Wood stick that originates from 1981-82 and a Chimo model favoured late in his career, with this example seeing duty with the New York Rangers or Quebec Nordiques in the late-1980s. A collection onto itself, all that is needed is a fourth Lafleur stick….
The KOHO stick has "Lafleur" stamped over the upper shaft and “10” handwritten, with the original black tape over the blade and white over the handle and knob. The striping accents show wear but are intact, with nice game use exhibited over the blade and lower shaft. Lafleur has signed the lower shaft in blue marker, and the signature is flawless. The Sher-Wood stick has "Lafleur G." and "10" below the knob, with "XXX" below the knob handwritten (unknown significance). There is a date stamped of "11 nov 1981" on the underside of the lower shaft, with just very light use exhibited, with wear to the underside of the blade. Lastly, the Chimo stick has "Lafleur G. 10" below the knob, with a date stamped over the lower underside of the shaft, but it’s not decipherable. The original black tape over the blade and white over the handle and knob is in place, along with the striping accent. The stick shows light use with wear to the blade, with a pair of holes drilled into the shaft, most likely from a prior mounting.
