Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
A member of the Union Army during the Civil War, Rutherford B. Hayes was nominated as the Republican candidate for the presidency in 1876 and elected through the Compromise of 1877, serving as the 19th President of the United States, in office from March 4, 1877 to March 4, 1881. We have a signed calling card from the Delaware native. At approx 2 ½” x 4”, “Executive Mansion, Washington” appears over the upper left, with Hayes adding a beautiful fountain pen signature, with just light fading occurring. With just a bit of toning, the card displays well, with a few pencil notations over the reverse along with residue at each corner from prior scrapbook insertion. An LOA from JSA will accompany.
