Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019

Two of the modern era’s greatest defencemen and both fixtures in Motor City with the Wings, we have a pair of signed game-used sticks from Nicklas KLidstrom and Larry Murphy, with both examples gifted to our consignor, Ken Daniels. A sportscaster with CBC from 1985 to 1997, Daniels is currently the play-by-play announcer for the Detroit Red Wings on Fox Sports Detroit. Both originating from the late-1990s circa 1997-98, we have Easton (Lidstrom) and KOHO (Murphy) models, with both sticks retaining the tape over the knob. The original black blade tape on the Lidstrom is intact, with the tape over the blade on the Murphy stick removed. Each has signed across the front side of the blade in black marker, with no issues for either signature. The type of model Lidstrom used in the late-1990s including during the 1997-98 Stanley Cup championship season, wear is visible over the underside of the blade, with a few marks to the shaft and handle. The Murphy stick is also the type that saw use from the Scarborough native in 1997-98, with numerous marks to the lower shaft along with a few additional marks near the toe. There is also some red paint transfer over the lower shaft. An LOA from Ken Daniels will accompany each stick.
