Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
Obscure scarcities here are purplish-tinted affairs, featuring players who toiled in the lower St. Lawrence River region for senior teams located in Matane, Mont-Joli, Riviere-du-Loup and Rimouski, Quebec. All are encapsulated by SGC, with notables being goalies Denis Brodeur, (father of NHL record-holder Martin Brodeur) and Marcel Paille (of New York Rangers fame), as well as Gerry Plamondon, a senior scoring star and now the oldest living former Montreal Canadien, who helped the Habs to the Stanley Cup in 1945-46. Other than three EX 5 cards and two at Good 2, all are either respectable VG/EX 4s (33 cards including 50-Plamondon and 51-Paille) or VG 3s (26 cards including 17-Brodeur). Card backs identify the player, name his team and include birthplace and date. Hockey historians may also be familiar with the likes of Nils Tremblay, Marcel and Denis Fillion, Guy Labrie, René Pepin and a few others, with card #38 required for completion.
