Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018

Oh, the facsimile flashbulbs sure were popping in O-Pee-Chee’s 1970-71 card set, with a groovy Series 1 uncut sheet on the auction block here and featuring a nifty array of background colors. A horizontal side-to-side crease affects the Gilbert Perreault RC card in the top row, while a tear in the third row is through the middle of the first three cards (Maki, Dorey, Van Impe). A two-inch tear further down (Dornhoefer card) is also to note, as well as a noticeable crease through Bobby Orr’s face. We spot a crease-free Wayne Cashman RC, while a light crease or subtle creases are in the Brad Park RC and two checklists. Notable Hall of Famers include Howe, Beliveau, Hull, Horton, Esposito, Cheevers, Parent, Mikita and still more, with the card “backs” printed on the reverse. A Brit Selby card has the “traded” notation, with first-year Canucks (9) and Sabres (10) cards also noteworthy. Intriguing display measures 28-1/4” by 43” and is ready….to display.
