Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
A member of the “Big 3” netminders – along with Terry Sawchuk and Glenn Hall - that patrolled creases during the height of the Original Six era, we have a tremendous typed letter from 1971 signed by HOF legend Jacques Plante with wonderful hockey content, along with the original mailing envelope and a second letter sent by our consignor soliciting the response from Plante. Typed on MLG letterhead (8 ½” x 11”), Plante gives 15 tips to our consignor regarding goaltending, with a beautiful ballpoint signature placed along the bottom section. The 3 ½” x 6 ½” envelope has a 1971 postmark, with the consignors address filled out in Plante’s hand. With no issues for the Plante signature, just light expected wear including fold lines are present on the letter.
The letter sent by our consignor asks Plante specific goaltending questions, with someone (possibly Plante) adding responses directly near the questions, with the signed letter sent from Plante to our consignor adding goaltending tips. The letter sent by our consignor has fold lines, with the MLG envelope exhibiting moderate wear including toning.
