Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Receiving a packet of six stamps with a minimum $3.00 gas purchase at participating Esso stations, the 1970-71 Esso Power Players Stamps set is complete at 252, with both hard and soft cover albums available to store and display the set. We have a pair of soft-covered albums, with one featuring a complete set, while the other is roughly 75% complete. Also included, we have a pair of unopened 1972 Summit Series Canada-Russia cards issued by Future Trends in 1991, along with 11 different Montreal Canadiens programs from the late-1960s/early-1970s and a copy of the Molson book “Hockey” by Jean Beliveau. The complete 1970-71 Esso album is in wonderful condition with light wear to the album and spine, with most of the stamps in excellent condition, while the second album exhibits heavy wear with the front and back covers almost completely detached. The Future Trends unopened boxes are both wrapped in their cellophane with original price tags still affixed, with minimal wear to the boxes themselves. The Molson book is complete with just light handling wear and toning. The 11 programs also exhibit expected handling wear and survive in very good condition with intact inserts, with 4 hailing from 1968-69, 4 from 1969-70 and 3 from 1970-71.
