Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Nifty pre-war collectibles here are seemingly under-valued/appreciated compared with hockey cards of the same era and feature swell pictures and write-ups, being produced by New York City's Diamond Match Company and originally coming in cello packs containing two matchbooks. A dozen are complete with strikers, with ten being "Type 1" examples; N.Y. Americans Carr, Klein and Mason, Rangers Heller and Keeling and Hawks Cook, Coulter and Locking, with two Type 4 Black Hawks; Burke and Karakas. The others no longer have strikers present, with over half exhibiting light staining/soiling on the otherwise blank backs. Included are 13 Americans (Dutton (2 different types), Emms, Oliver, Nels Stewart), seven Rangers (Boucher, Bun Cook, Kerr, "Ching"), 13 Black Hawks (Coulter, Karakas, Livinsky (2 diff.) and two Canadiens (Lesieur, Runge). Standard fold lines, along with a few intermittent creases are spotted while perusing these interesting relics.
