Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
A rare opportunity, Classic Auctions is pleased to announce yet another partnership with the historic Montreal Canadiens franchise, one that will bring to auction a large and impressive bounty of jerseys fresh from the vast and seldom offered holdings of the storied hockey club. Examples are present from 2003-04 to 2014-15, with both important game-issued and game-worn jerseys offered, with a direct line from the actual player and the Canadiens franchise – to you, our loyal bidders. Each desirable jersey has inventory numbers from the Canadiens, with each to be accompanied by a letter of authenticity on Canadiens letterhead.
Hailing from his first of two seasons spent in Quebec, we have a Montreal Canadiens "1945-46 Vintage Set" jersey issued to, and prepared for use for Karl Dykhuis for a Dec 13th 2005 contest vs Phoenix. Size tagging sits along the collar, with embroidered NHL and CCM crests on the back bottom hem. Styled with the famous CH team crest that’s been partially embroidered, the solid white garment has been accented with oversized tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with the vintage “V” crest just above the right breast. Issued but never worn, the jersey remains in wonderful condition. Patches from the Canadiens (A02898) and MeiGray (C05265) are affixed to the inside hem, while a hologram affixed to the reverse number “4” matches the accompanying LOA from the Canadiens. We should also note that these “vintage” alternate style jerseys only saw use for three seasons, and while originally for the 2004-05 season, due to the NHL lockout, this jersey was later prepared for use for the 2005-06 season.
