Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Rock-solid along the blue line and even tougher in the corners, Tim Horton remains an example of the quintessential NHL defenceman - determined, physical and especially skilled. We have a rarely-seen stick used by the deceased HOFer during the early-1960s, circa 1963-64. A CCM Pattern Made Custom Pro model, “Horton” appears stamped-on, with an additional stamp from Leafs supplier Browns Sports. Tim’s original tape job over the blade is present, along with the white-over-black spiral pattern over the handle, with most of the striping accent intact. Nice use is exhibited, with marks present on both sides of the blade along with over the lower shaft, with red paint transfer also visible over the stick’s identifiers on the backside of the shaft. Hailing from the era that witnessed 3 consecutive Cup wins for the Leafs, this lumber is worthy of inclusion within even the greatest of HOF stick collections.
