Cool 1969-70 WHL Vancouver Canucks gamer was worn by goalie George Gardner during the minor league team’s last season before the NHL Canucks made their expansion debut. Gardner, who went 41-14-6 in 62 games for the WHL champion Canucks, played 66 NHL games for the Canucks and Detroit, and 79 games in the WHA with Los Angeles and Vancouver. “Canucks” is arched across the front in heat-screened blue vinyl that remains fully intact, as do the number 1 in the same material on the front, back and both sleeves. Size 50 flag tag is in the back of the collar, which has a reddish-brown stain on the right side, and General Athletic Products tagging is sewn inside the left rear tail.
There is a circular team repair on the left front tail and another on the back of the left shoulder, which has red paint transfer. More game wear includes a black mark on the right side of the back, and a few reddish-brown spots stains on the front, the back, and the back of the left sleeve.
