Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
Featuring the heavily supported Tampa Bay Devil Rays, we have a neat grouping of game-used equipment totaling 10, with a number of items originating from the first few seasons of the franchise. Included are a catcher’s mask, shin guards batting gloves and chest protector, all worn by Toby Hall with the mask and shin guards signed, followed by a pair of jackets worn by David Lamb in 1999-00, 2 pairs of road pants including a pair worn by Steve Cox, socks worn by Jose Canseco in 1999 and more. 1) Toby Hall’s Tampa Bay Rays game-worn catchers mask. An All-Star model with cloth patch and MLB logo, nice use is shown with wear to the padding. Hall has signed on the right front, and the signature displays well. 2) Toby Hall’s 2002 Tampa Bay Rays game-worn shin guards. All-Star LG21W Pro models with MLB logos, each shows heavy use with a number of marks and scratches present. Hall has signed each across the front in silver, adding “2002 game used”. 3) Steve Cox’s 2000 Tampa Bay Rays game-worn road pants. A Rawlings label sits along the waistband, with a date and set swatch of “44-46 31 00” along with “Cox” handwritten. Great use is exhibited, with staining, pilling and wear to left knee section. 4) 2001 Tampa Bay Rays game-worn road pants. Russell tagging is intact with a date and set swatch of “38/40-33-01”, along with “10” handwritten in 2 spots. A signature is present on one leg, along with “USA 2000”. 5) Toby Hall’s Tampa Bay Rays game-worn chest protector. An All-Star model with MLB logos, heavy use is shown, with a ton of salt staining to the material. 6&7) David Lamb’s 1999-00 Tampa Bay Rays jackets (2). Differing in style and colours, one example has tagging from Majestic, the other Starter, with both having “Lamb” handwritten over the labels. Both jackets remain in excellent condition, with some very light staining on one example. 8) Jose Canseco’s 1999 Tampa Bay Rays game-worn socks. Black and white, “33” appears handwritten on each, with nice wear present. 9) Toby Hall’s Tampa Bay Rays game-worn batting gloves. Franklin models, each show heavy use, with “HR #1” handwritten on the right glove. The left has been signed, and the signature is quite faded. 10) Tampa Bay Rays undershirt. A Russell Athletics label sits on the lower front, with an embroidered Rays crest on the turtleneck. Nice use is shown, with no holes or damage. An LOA will accompany the Hall batting gloves, with COAs for the Hall mask, chest protector and shin guards.
