Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016

A determining component in the Habs late-1950s cup dynasty, Jacques Plante will be forever remembered as the first goaltender to regularly don facial protection. This standard-size postcard has been signed by the timeless legend. At 3 ½” x 5 ½”, a mask-less Plante is pictured in full stance eyeing the lensman. Jacques has signed in the upper left corner in blue ballpoint, and the signature is exemplary. Slabbed by PSA/DNA as authentic, an inscription on the reverse penned in an unknown hand states “Jacques Plante Montreal Canadiens 1955-1956”. With just a few touches to the lower corners, the postcard itself is a solid VG, making it the perfect addition for any condition-sensitive autograph collection.
