Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/16/2010
With five World Series titles to his credit already, Derek Jeter has earned his place among the New York Yankees' immortals. This outstanding lot features three items signed by Jeter, including a Yankees #2 jersey which will surely join the retired numbers of icons such as Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio and Mantle whenever Derek ultimately calls it a career. The Yankees captain has signed in blue sharpie across the pinstripes of this size 48 #2 Majestic Authentic jersey. A Steiner holofoil is affixed to the navy blue twill "NY" logo crest sewn on the left breast just above Jeter's autograph and a Steiner COA plastic card accompanies the jersey. Jeter has signed in fine ballpoint on a panel between the stitches opposite the "Official Major League Baseball" stamp with commissioner Bud Selig's facsimile autograph on a game ball that was used in the Yankees' game against the Mets at Yankee Stadium on June 17, 2007. A numbered holofoil affixed to the baseball corresponds to one that has been placed on a Yankees-Steiner Collectibles letter of authenticity. Jeter has signed in blue sharpie across the seat of his road uniform pants and former teammate Alfonso Soriano has signed across his knees on the left side of the image on a 20" x 16" photo of the two Yankees stars. A PSA/DNA letter of authenticity accompanies the photo which has a PSA/DNA sticker in the bottom right corner along with Steiner, MLB and Elite holofoils.
