Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Seeing action over a pair of differing NHL seasons, this lot offers a Pittsburgh Penguins jersey that was first worn by Kelly Buchberger in 2003-04, with the jersey then recycled for Matt Hussey’s use in 2005-06. A sewn-down label with “54” sizing is affixed to the collar, with an embroidered Reebok crest placed over a CCM example on the reverse neckline. Styled with the familiar Pens team crest with embroidered detailing, “7” appears over the sleeves and verso in oversized and textured tackle twill numberals, with matching alternate crests over each shoulder. As mentioned, the jersey was first worn by Buchberger in 2003-04 and he’s listed as wearing #7, with the extended outline of “Buchberger” visible beneath the Hussey nameplate. The 2005-06 season lists Hussey wearing the #7 jersey. Exhibiting light to moderate wear throughout including a few random dark marks, the 2003-04 “Set #2” team patch resides on the inside hem, with a team LOA to accompany along with a second LOA.
