Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/27/2021
The late, great Jean Beliveau’s beautiful blue marker autograph graces each of these 45 limited-edition 16” x 21 ½” lithographs from an original painting by Quebec artist Bernard Pelletier. All of the autographs were obtained at a private signing at Mr. Beliveau's home in 2001. Each signature has a blue marker annotation handwritten by Big Jean, with 39 of the prints sporting “507” below his signature to commemorate the 507 goals he scored during his Hall of Fame career with the Montreal Canadiens, 3 prints have an “Art Ross + MVP 1955-56” annotation, along with single prints with “300th Career Goal”, “400th Career Goal” and “M.V.P. 1963-64”. The artist has also signed in pencil over the bottom right, with each litho hand-numbered out of 507. With no issues for the signatures, the majority of the prints remain in high grade, with the odd example showing minor issues including touches to corners.
