Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
The year 2006 was Jacques Villeneuve’s last season in Formula One. He participated in only 12 of 18 races as his season ended after a heavy crash at the German Grand Prix. Still, in only a partial season he managed to finish 15th overall in the World Championship with a best finish of 6th at the Spanish Grand Prix.
Bell Racing Europe painted this HP3 helmet in Jacques' traditional paint scheme and tagged it 2006-08 making it one of the last helmets used by Villeneuve in Formula 1 competition. The helmet shows very light wear. The drink tube has been drilled out and the tube is still attached to the helmet. The HANS clips remain intact however the race radio has been removed, likely to be used in another helmet.
There are five tear-offs still attached to the race visor and Villeneuve applied his signature on the top one. Also included is a Bell carrying bag with “J.V. 06-08” handwritten annotations. This item is from Jacques Villeneuve’s personal collection and will come with his signed LOA.
