Captained by Toe Blake who also led the club in scoring, the Montreal Canadiens finished in first place during their 37th season of play in 1945-46, with Rocket Richard’s 50 minutes in penalties second to only Butch Bouchard. The Habs would go on to take the Stanley Cup final in five over the always-rival Boston Bruins. This exceptional celluloid creation captures members of the 1945-46 Stanley Cup champion Montreal Canadiens and is the work of Montreal’s famous Rice Studios, with these originally presented only to team members. At approx 8 ½” x 12 ½” and picturing the full club including management with the results of both the semis and finals listed at each side, HOFers Richard, Bouchard, Durnan, O’Connor, Reardon and Blake are all depicted in full-body poses. Fellow HOFer Elmer Lach is positioned next to Lord Stanley’s hardware, with the photo originating from his personal collection, with his signed LOA to accompany.
Surface scratches are visible throughout along with minor indentations, with string affixed to the cardboard reverse to facilitate hanging.
