Claiming the President’s Trophy with the best regular-season record in 1998-99, Ed Belfour and the Dallas Stars would advance to the Stanley Cup finals, and defeat the Buffalo Sabres in six games to claim the franchise’s first championship. Hailing from his personal collection, we have the stick used by the superstar netminder in the May 24th and 26th 1999 Western Conference Final games vs the Colorado Avalanche (both games won by Dallas), and it’s been signed. A Christian model with “Belfour” over the upper shaft, the stick features Ed’s trademark eagle over the lower paddle, with the original black tape over the blade and handle, and white on the knob. Belfour has signed over the front side heel section in silver, with no issues for the signature. A signed LOA from Ed Belfour will accompany.
Annotations have been added to the back of the stick, with "RD #3, game #2, 3-2, 5/24/99" an "RD 3, game 3, 3-0, 5-26-99" (the actual score of game #2 was 4-2). Nice use is exhibited on the lumber, with wear to the taped section of blade including the underside, with a small chip at the toe of the blade. There is also additional wear to the shaft, with a bit of red and blue paint transfer beneath the knob. Belfour would continue to use a stick he was winning with, with those used in defeats relegated to the rack.
