Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
A thorn in the side of Canadians at the 1998 Winter Olympics, shutting down Team Canada in the semifinals, Dominik Hasek was the first European goalie to lead the NHL in GAA, with his 735 regular-season career games played the second most all-time among European netminders. We have a stick used by the HOFer during his time with the Red Wings in the mid-2000s, with this model used by the star from 2006-08, a time that witnessed Detroit hoisting Lord Stanley’s hardware (2008). A TPS Omega model in Motor City colours with “Hasek” stamped over the upper shaft, the stick retains its original white tape over the blade, lower paddle and knob. A factory code of “L-1162-4” also appears on the underside of the shaft. Exhibiting a number of puck marks across the front side of the blade and paddle, there is also some chipping near the handle, with blue paint transfer over the top section of the handle, and red paint transfer over the knob.
