Drafted 9th overall in 2003, hard hitting defenceman Dion Phaneuf would find himself in the blue and white of the Toronto Maple Leafs midway through the 2009-10 season and take over the captain’s reins of the storied franchise in only his second year in Ontario. From his first year as Leafs captain, we offer this Maple Leafs jersey worn by Phaneuf during the 2010-11 season. Featuring a single size “58” label affixed to the inner collar, crests for the NHL and Reebok are found over the front and back necklines respectively. Decorated over the front with the famed Maple Leafs crest with “Toronto Maple Leafs” embroidered, the distinguish captain’s “C” is affixed to the left breast while matching alternate logo patches adorn each shoulder. The sleeves and verso of the jersey have been accented with Dion’s number “3” in white twill numerals with “Phaneuf” in matching style across the affixed matching nameplate. Sporting moderate game-use, snags/pulls and board burns are seen over both sleeves with a light stick marks also seen in the top white stripe of the left sleeve. A handful of snags/pulls are found throughout the body of the jersey and heavy sweat stains are seen in the collar. Of note, liquid stains are seen over the nameplate and the reverse number “3” as well. A Leafs team tagging patch is sewn inside the reverse hem and the jersey is accompanied by a MeiGray COR.
