Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Vintage heavy durene red knit Chicago Black Hawks uniform made by Wilson with their size 48 tagging in the collar above a Gunzo's tag. The Hawks' felt “74 PO” set tag is sewn inside as this one was first worn in the 1974 NHL post-season. With a crossover neck style, possibly sent down to the minors or re-used for Hawks training camps, the shirt has significant repair work where a former nameplate was removed. Currently, the jersey displays the number 46 but it appears to have had a number change. Garter-style fight strap sewn into the back. Fantastic wear includes material runs that appear on both sleeves and the left arm has a team repair at the elbow.
Additional wear consists of extensive and lengthy team repair work done on the back to fix material runs, stick marks on the lower front and a longer black slash below the team crest. The chain-stitched "Tommies" at each shoulder appear original to the jersey.
