Clarence S. Campbell Bowl trophy was presented to HOF goalie Billy Smith after the Islanders won their first major team trophy in 1977-78. From their humble beginnings with 12 wins in their 1972-73 inaugural season, the Isles rose to the top of the Campbell Conference five years later with 48 wins and 111 points. Billy went 20-8-8 with two shutouts and a 2.65 GAA in 38 games in 1977-78. Silver-plated cup with handles on both sides and a removable lid sits atop a six-sided wooden base that stands 3” high. One side of the bowl is engraved “New York Islanders 1977-1978 Bill Smith” and the other side has the trophy’s name engraved on it. Nicely preserved with some light tarnish and a few scratches, it comes with Billy Smith’s signed LOA.
