Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
The old Western Hockey League predated NHL expansion to the west coast and here’s a great grouping of 14 wonderfully preserved Converse official game pucks from 1964-74 that celebrate its teams. Included are 10 WHL Converse pucks with rubber reverses. Eight of those display the Art Ross patent number with examples from the L.A. Blades, Phoenix Roadrunners, San Francisco Seals, San Diego Gulls, Seattle Totems, Victoria Maple Leafs and two versions of the WHL Vancouver Canucks. Portland Buckaroos and Salt Lake Golden Eagles (blue ring) pucks don’t have the patent number. Four screened reverse pucks from Portland, Seattle, Salt Lake (green ring) and the Denver Spurs complete the lot.
These pucks are in really nice condition with wear to both rubberized crests on the San Francisco Seals puck, and nicks to both edges of the Seattle Totems rubberized reverse puck, which also has a slice on the reverse.
