Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
One of the four Presidents depicted on Mount Rushmore, Theodore Roosevelt took office as Vice President in 1901 and assumed the role of the President upon the assassination of William McKinley, serving as the 26th President of the United States, in office from September 14, 1901 to March 4, 1909. We have a pair of signed calling cards, with an example from Roosevelt along with a card signed by First Lady Edith Kermit Roosevelt. At approx 2 ¾” x 4”, “White House, Washington” appears over the upper right on each card, with the Roosevelt a gorgeous fountain pen example, with just heavy toning and light spotting to the card. The First Lady’s signature exhibits some fading, with paper residue left over the reverse from former scrapbook mounting. Roosevelt would pass at the young age of 60, in 1919. An LOA from JSA will accompany, along with additional COAs.
