The 11th overall pick of the 1986 NHL Entry Draft by the Hartford Whalers, Scott Young, who played his college hockey with the Boston University Terriers, would play 1181 games in the National Hockey League over the course of his career, winning Stanley Cup's with Pittsburgh in 1991 and Colorado in 1996. Also having represented the United States at numerous tournaments, winning a gold medal at the 1996 World Cup of Hockey and a silver medal at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, Young would be inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in 2017. Offered here and hailing from his lone season on the west coast with Anaheim, is this Mighty Ducks third jersey donned by Young during the 1997-98 season. Made by Nike and featuring Nike/size "54" plus Center Ice Authentic Collection labeling affixed to the inner collar, both the Nike "swoosh" and NHL shield logos are found having been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a Mighty Ducks "puffy" team crest that features embroidered details throughout, the distinguished alternate captain's "A" has been added over the left breast. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Young's number "48" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals, "Young" is spelt out in single layer white twill letters that have been sewn down directly to the material of the upper reverse. Sporting a Mighty Ducks team tag that denotes the piece as a "1997-98 Set 2" specimen inside the reverse as well as the original fight strap, the jersey displays game-wear via board burns and stick marks over both sleeves as well as some small fabric snags over the lower front. Exhibiting some light pilling on the interior around the elbows as well, the jersey comes accompanied by a Mighty Ducks LOA
