This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/30/2024
Canada’s first major league baseball team, the Montreal Expos were named after the Expo ’67 World’s Fair event that captivated both the city and province, with the club playing at Jarry Park from their inception in 1969, until moving to Olympic Stadium in 1977. We have a souvenir ticket for the inaugural home opener sealed in lucite, along with a 1970 season team photo in lucite, with these originally presented as souvenirs to season ticket holders. At 2 ½” x 7 ½”, the ticket sports “Opening Game” and “1969”, with a $5.00 Box Seat list price, with a home schedule on the reverse. Sealed in lucite to full dimensions of 3 ½” x 8 ¼”. The 1970 team photo has the players names and an image of Jarry Park on the reverse, with measurements of 3 1/2" x 9" at the widest points. Both show numerous scratches to the lucite on the front and reverse.
