Sporting no love loss for the mighty Montreal Canadiens and void of any NHL involvement until the arrival of the Nordiques, Quebec City and her hockey supporters have been blessed with a number of clubs that supplied a passionate Quebecois fan base with high level hockey for decades. Featuring the famous Quebec Aces and Quebec Citadelle, we offer a wonderful group of vintage postcards and photos totaling approx 189 and ranging from the early-1950s to mid-to-late-1960s, including 37 examples that have been signed. Highlighted by postcards featuring iconic HOF members Jean Beliveau, Gump Worsley, Doug Harvey and Bernie Geoffrion, the collection includes 39 early-1950s Quebec Citadelle photos including Beliveau, 44 1950s Quebec Aces player photos (34 signed), and 106 1960s Aces postcards including 3 signed. The 1960s Aces postcards include; 1962-63 – 22 including Lewicki, Morrison, St-Laurent, Hodge, Aubry and others; 1963-64 – 24 including Harvey, Worsley, Hodge (2 different), Rochefort, Morrison and others; 1964-65 – 39 including Harvey, Worsley, Geoffrion (coach), Nolet, Price, Berenson, and others; 1966-67 – 21 including 3 signed (Lacroix, Nolet and Gendron). The signed 1950s Aces player photos include Bonin, Beckett, Evans, Hillman, Gamble, O’Ree and others. There is also a 1950s colour Aces team photo (5” x 7” w/Harvey, Geoffrion and Worsley) and a pair of Aces team photo set envelopes (lower grade). The Aces player photos each have a team stamp over the reverse along with a logo from supplier Maurice Pollack, while the Citadelle photos are blank-backed (some of the Aces and Citadelle photos have the player’s name handwritten). The majority of the Aces/Citadelle photos remain in pleasing condition, with just minor wear visible including toning along with the odd corner ding/bend. The Aces postcards also remain in pleasing condition with light to moderate handling wear and toning, with heavy wear to the Beliveau example including creasing.
