Playing several seasons with Västra Frölunda IF in his homeland of Sweden and drafted 115th overall in the 1976 WHA Entry Draft by the Winnipeg Jets, Jorgen Pettersson would never be drafted into the National Hockey League, but come over the NHL starting in 1980-81 and going on to play a total of 435 games over the course of six (6) seasons with the St. Louis Blues, Hartford Whalers and Washington Capitals. A bronze medalist with Sweden at the 1975 IIHF World Junior Championship, offered here is this St. Louis Blues jersey worn by Pettersson during the 1984-85 season. A rare one-year style made of heavy mesh by Rawlings, a size "48" tag from the brand is affixed inside the left hip seam while a Rawlings logo has been screened over the reverse right hip. Decorated over the front with a tri-layer tackle twill Blues team crest that has "St. Louis" embroidered into it, "Blues" is spelt out in an arch above the logo in matching style as well while the sleeves and verso have been accented with Pettersson's number "22" in tri-layer tackle twill numerals. Displaying "Pettersson" spelt out in stacked dual layer blue-over-yellow tackle twill letters across the affixed matching mesh nameplate at the top of the back, it is worth pointing out that evidence of a former nameplate that was once in place can be seen over the upper back on the interior with a couple of threads from it still stuck in the mesh though Pettersson is the only listed as having worn the number "22" throughout the course of the year. An off-white colour due to having been washed incorrectly by the Blues, something seen on other examples that have come to the hobby as well, the jersey exhibits good game-wear in form of stick marks over the front, reverse and both sleeves while board burns are present over the lower front and both sleeves as well. Also displaying numerous team fabric backed patched team repairs on both sleeves and the reverse, small unrepaired holes in the mesh are found over both sleeves while small red coloured board paint transfer marks are found over the lower front. Also showing decent pilling on the interior, a snap style fight strap has been sewn inside the reverse that shows salting inside the snaps.
