This magnificent gold and diamond creation was presented to Jim Pappin after he helped the Chicago Black Hawks to the NHL regular season championship in 1969-70. The Hawks and Boston each finished with 99 points, but Chicago had five more wins than the Bruins to claim the Prince of Wales Trophy. Pappin scored 28 goals after tallying 30 times the previous season in his Windy City debut. Size 10 ½ with an approx weight of 32 grams, 11 of 12 real shimmering diamonds encompass the big cubic zirconia in the center of the tableau, with "69 NHL 70 Champions" spelled out around the bezel in raised, sloping letters. The left shank displays the Prince of Wales Trophy and Canadian and American flags, with “J Pappin” above and “Pride” below, while the right shank features the iconic Hawks logo, with "Chicago" above and "Harmony" below. "Josten 10K" is stamped to the interior band, with moderate wear from use visible including scratches and minor dings over the bands.
