The Montreal Canadiens captured their ninth regular season title in 1958-59, outdistancing Boston by 18 points before setting an NHL record by securing their fourth consecutive Stanley Cup victory. This Prince of Wales trophy was produced in the 2000s following a request by the Jacques Plante Foundation in Switzerland where Jacques spent his final years. At 13” in height, four silver-plated hockey sticks rise up from a 2 ½” wooden base to support a cup with an affixed coat of arms and removable lid. A plaque affixed over the front of the wooden base states, “Prince of Wales Trophy”, with “Jacques Plante” engraved beneath, with a second plaque over the reverse sporting, "NHL Champions – Montreal Canadiens – 1958-59". An LOA from the Plante family will accompany.
The trophy exhibits just light wear throughout and remains in gorgeous condition.
