Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Returning to the NHL after retiring for a full season in 1996-97, Gary Roberts spent an additional 11 seasons in the world’s fastest league, finishing his career with over 900 points. Hailing from the North York native’s final season of four in Toronto, we have a Maple Leafs alternate captain’s jersey worn during the 2003-04 NHL season. Size “56” labeling sits along the collar, with embroidered CCM and NHL patches on the back neckline and bottom hem respectively. Featuring the Leafs team crest that was first used in 1987, the garment has also been finished with tri-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with matching alternate crests over each shoulder. A MeiGray patch numbered “B08615” sits over the inside hem, and according to their population report, the garment is a "White 3rd Regular Season w/A" example.
Just a few dark marks are visible along the front, with additional examples over each sleeve. There are also board burns over the left sleeve along with three team repairs over the right.
