Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Following in the footsteps of numerous past NHL stars by first competing at the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament, Felix Potvin made his junior debut with the Chicoutimi Saguenéens in the Q in 1988-89 and spent a trio of seasons with the club. Originating from either the 1988-89 QMJHL All-Star Game where Potvin was selected to the Rookie Team, or the 1989-90 edition of the All-Star Game - where Potvin was named to the QMJHL Second All-Star Team, we have a QMJHL All-Star jersey worn by the star netminder. A Maska Ultrafil label is affixed to the collar along with an embroidered CCM crest added to the reverse hem, with the jersey measuring-out to roughly a size 56. Styled with the QMJHL logo rubberized to the chest, “29” appears over the sleeves and verso in heat-pressed vinyl, with “Potvin” pressed to the upper reverse in white vinyl. There are also affixed twill stars over the sleeves and lower front. Hailing from his personal collection, a signed LOA from Felix Potvin will accompany.
Sporting moderate game-use with light wear to the material and a few marks visible including minor pilling, the “30” over the reverse shows damage, with a section of the upper red vinyl layer on the “3” of “30” detached, with sections also peeling, with some additional cracking to the vinyl numbers over the sleeves.
