Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
On top of the hockey world as the recipient of the Vezina, William Jennings and Calder Memorial Trophy at the conclusion of his first full NHL season in 1990-91, Ed Belfour was also a First Team NHL All-Star and was selected to the NHL’s All-Rookie Team. This goaltending award was presented to the HOFer that very season. Standing roughly 14” in height, a metal net has been suspended in acrylic, set into an attractive finished base with beveled edges and plaques affixed. “Trico Goaltender Award” appears across the front of the base, with a smaller plaque placed above that states “1990-91 Ed Belfour – Chicago Blackhawks .910 save Percentage”. An LOA from Ed Belfour will accompany.
In gorgeous condition, the heavy acrylic award does exhibits what appears to be crazing along each side of the base, along with the top section that also appears to show crazing within the back interior, with no wear to the outside reverse itself.
