Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Featuring the beloved Toronto Maple Leafs, we have a great collection of 3 game-used sticks, with each example team-signed. Hailing from the 1960s, we have sticks used by Norm Ullman (1968-69), Bob Pulford (1964-67) and Floyd Smith (late-1960s). Each stick has the users name stamped on, with the Ullman and Smith examples also having stamps from team supplier Browns Sports. Each stick also features intact tape jobs, with nice use exhibited on each stick. The Ullman has been signed by 18 in ballpoint including Ullman, Horton, Keon and others, while the Pulford stick has been signed by approx. 16 including Pulford, Sawchuk, Horton and others. Lastly, the Smith stick features 11 signatures with Armstrong, Ullman, Henderson and others.
Additional signatures include Pilote, Henderson, Bower, Armstrong and Pulford on the Ullman stick, with Keon and Pronovost on the Pulford stick and Quinn, Gamble, Pulford, Bower and Keon on the Smith lumber. We should also note that the Smith stick is numbered #18, with Floyd Smith wearing #17, but being no other players named Smith appeared for the Leafs during the era, it should most likely be Floyd. The signatures on both the Smith and Ullman sticks display well, with the examples on the Pulford stick heavily worn/faded, with many hard to make out. The Horton and Sawchuk signature on the Pulford stick are very light but readable, while the Horton example on the Ullman stick is bold with no issues.
