Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018

One of the greatest goal scorers ever, HOF center Phil Esposito began his NHL career in the Windy City. Esposito’s scarce rookie-era early-1960s Chicago Black Hawks game-used Northland Pro stick has his original tape jobs on the knob and blade. A gorgeous stick from the outset of Espo’s legendary career that featured 717 goals and 1,590 points and two Stanley Cup wins with the Big, Bad Bruins! “Esposito” is stamped on the front of the shaft and Phil’s No. “7” is handwritten in black marker beneath the “Lie No 5” and “Left” factory stamps on the front of the shaft. “Made by Northlands Ski Mfg. C. St. Paul, Minn U.S.A.” stamps are on both sides of the upper shaft.
Nice game wear on the bottom edge of the tape job on the blade towards the toe. There is a small nail hole in the middle of the shaft, through the “N” in the Northland stamp on the front side. The wood separation in the middle of the blade is often observed in sticks of this vintage.
