Featuring the boys on Broadway, we have a collection of New York Rangers items totaling 3, highlighted by a desirable mini-stick team-signed by the 1938-39 Blueshirts. At 13” in length, the one-piece mini-stick has a faint stamp from supplier McNiece’s over one side of the blade, with 18 signing the opposite side in pencil, including deceased HOFers Art Coulter, Babe Pratt, Clint Smith, Neil Colville, Bryan Hextall and Lynn Patrick. The small signatures display well with minimal fading, with a line drawn between most of the examples, with just the Coulter and Colville signatures somewhat light. Accompanying the signed stick, we have a 1930s Arco Skates Ching Johnson pinback, along with a framed Camel Cigarette ad from 1934 featuring Bill Cook.
As mentioned, the signatures display well on the mini-stick, with just light wear to the stick itself, with it retaining its blond surface. The additional signers include Watson, Shibicky, Hiller, M. Colville, Dillon, Heller, Allen, Carse, Molyneaux, Gardiner, Kerr and Muzz Patrick. The Arco Johnson pin was issued in 1938 and was found pinned within the Arco Skates booklets inserted within their skate boxes. At 1” in diameter, the pin exhibits a bit of scuffing to the surface, with just light wear to the rim over the reverse. Lastly, the Bill Cook ad is 9 ½” x 14”, framed to full dimensions of approx 14 ½” x 18 ½”. Toning has taken place to the newsprint ad, with a small tear within the bottom left, and light wear to both the frame and glass.
