Canada’s most beloved baseball team – as long as you don’t live in Toronto – we have a great collection of Montreal Expos bats totaling 10, with the majority seeing diamond use. A pair of Hall of Famers is represented within the grouping, with all examples hailing from either the 1980s or 1990s. Included, we have bats for Cooperstown members Andre Dawson and Tim Raines, as well as Andres Galarraga, Hubie Brooks, Ken Hill, Tim Spehr, Mike Lansing, Greg Colbrunn, F.P. Santangelo and “Martinez” (minor league bat).
The breakdown for the collection is as follows; Andre Dawson – early-1980s 35” Louisville Slugger R43 signature model with “10” handwritten over the knob. Ball marks are noticeable, along with bat rack marks; Tim Raines – late-1980s 33 ½” Cooper Pro 100 TR4 signature model with size stamping and “31 oz” over the knob. This is a game bat that saw no use; Andre Galarraga – mid-to-late-1980s 34 ½” Cooper Pro 100 R161 signature model with size stamping and “32 oz” over the knob along with handwritten “14”. Light use, with scuffs and compression marks over the barrel; Hubie Brooks – late-1980s/early-1990s 34” Cooper Pro 100 M110 signature model with size stamping and “33 oz” over the knob along with handwritten “7”. Game bat, with no use visible; Ken Hill – early-1990s 34" Rawlings Big Stick 456B model with stamping over the knob including handwritten “44”, “32” and “Hill”. Numerous ball and bat rack marks over the barrel and general wear, with some minor dead wood over the reverse barrel; Tim Spehr – early-to-mid-1990s 34” Louisville Slugger C271 model with “2” handwritten over the knob. Heavy wear to the barrel with chipping, a crack and dead wood; Mike Lansing – mid-1990s 33 ¾” Louisville Slugger S318 model with “3” handwritten over the knob. Wear to the barrel including bat rack marks, with heavy pine tar/Mota stick and a large V-shaped crack over the upper handle; Greg Colbrunn – early-1990s 34 ½” Rawlings Big Stick 456B model with stamping over the knob including handwritten “15”, “33” and “Colbrunn”. A few ball, cleat and bat rack marks are visible over the barrel, with pine tar over the cracked handle; F.P. Santangelo – mid-to-late-1990s 34” Rawlings Big Stick 456B model with stamping over the knob including handwritten “7”. Heavy wear to the barrel with ball and compression marks along with minor dead wood; Martinez – 34” minor league Louisville Slugger S2 model bat with “29” handwritten over the knob. Ball and rack marks are visible over the barrel, with a small section of dead wood.
