Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
Jim Pappin had his most productive NHL season in 1972-73 and helped the Chicago Black Hawks to a 3rd consecutive West Division title. Forming a terrific line with Pit Martin and Dennis Hull, Pappin struck for 41 goals and 92 points, finishing in the top 10 in league scoring. We have a Clarence Campbell trophy awarded to Jim Pappin for the Hawks leading the West. At 11” in height, the silver-plated handled cup with removable lid (the lid is now attached) and chased detailing sits atop a hexagon-shaped 3-inch high wooden base and is engraved “Chicago Black Hawks 1972-73 James Pappin” on one side, with the name of the trophy and its "1968" year of inception on the other. This special keepsake will be accompanied by an LOA signed by Jim Pappin.
The silver plated trophy exhibits tarnishing throughout along with surface wear, with some scuffing and minor loss to the surface finish of the wooden base. There are also a few marks over the felt underside, with the green material slightly fraying along edges.
