Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Hailing from an important milestone season that witnessed his 400th goal, 600th assist and 1000th point, we have a New Jersey Devils jersey that was worn by superstar Bernie Nicholls during the 1993-94 NHL season, and it’s been photo-matched. Currently void of collar labeling, embroidered CCM and NHL crests grace the reverse bottom hem. Featuring an attractive Devils’ team crest fully administered in tackle twill, the red “1st Set” V-neck has been accented with dual-colour sleeve and verso numbers in matching material. Customized sleeves have also been utilized, with the team patch over the inside hem near the cut fight strap. Pinholes are also present, as the jersey was previously displayed in a frame. A signed LOA from Bernie Nicholls will accompany this milestone-season jersey.
Game-wear on the size “54” garment (jersey measures 27” across from armpit to armpit) includes a number of large stick marks across the team crest and lower front, with additional examples along with board burns and small resulting holes over each sleeve. There is also some pilling within the right sleeve, with a small tear to the right cuff. Getty Image #156931023 from April 8th 1994 has been matched to a pair of black marks on the #9 on the right sleeve, to a small cut below the number and to a small inverted-v shaped mark below the cut in the white band. An included and undated numeric image has also been matched to the long black mark in the "N" within the team crest, to the long diagonal black mark below the team's crest going through the upper white band and to a number of folds in the team's crest.
