Securing their berth in the 2001 Grey Cup with playoff victories over B.C. and Edmonton, the Calgary Stampeders faced a stronger Winnipeg Blue Bombers club which had the CFL's best regular season record of 14-4. Despite this, the Stamps built a 17-4 lead at halftime and would go on to victory, with a final score of 27-19 in front of 65,255 at Olympic Stadium in Montreal. This 2001 Calgary Stampeders Grey Cup championship 10K gold and diamond ring was presented to DB Anthony Prior. Size 10 ½ with an approx. weight of 49 grams, a Stamps galloping horse logo is featured over a centered oval red stone, with a perimeter of 20 diamonds encompassed above and below with additional diamonds filling the tableau. “Grey Cup” appears along the top in angled letter with “Champions” below, with the right shank featuring a Grey Cup motif, while the left has “A. Prior” above, along with a Stamps helmet and the score of the Grey Cup game. The inner band is stamped "10K" and "IGO", with a signed LOA from Anthony Prior to accompany.
In gorgeous condition, the championship ring exhibits a few small scratches and minor nicks, mostly over the outer band and along edges, with a good cleaning needed. Accompanying the ring is the original mahogany presentation box (6” x 4” x 2”), with a gold-coloured plaque (loose) within the interior that states “Anthony Prior 2001 CFL Grey Cup Champions – Calgary Stampeders”.
